Material exploration is just exploring the various materials to design and create different products. The project was on the theme of ‘Reuse of Waste’ which is also sustainable was used to design new products. Wood shavings also known as Sawdust is selected as the material. There was a lot of quantitative and qualitative research undertaken to design products. The products which were made could be decomposed after its purpose is served. Sawdust was first soaked in natural adessive medium and then given various prototypes were created. The shapes were then polished and made into a fruit tray, lamp and fruit basket.
Tuffet
Design Brief
The project of a tuffet was created. Prototypes were made to help in designing the final product. The prototype was made using spung as a medium. The final product of the tuffet was created of wood, a prototype of the same was also created. It has an ergonomic design form. It’s a four-dimensional seating tuffet, it has a place for people of all the age groups. There is also s creative seat for a toddler in the tuffet. It also has a creative seating where two people can sit at the same time. The tuffet can be used to sit during small time breaks.
Crinkle
Design Brief
The crinkle is an innovative approach for ice cream cups. This inspiration is taken from local cuisine of ‘bhelpuri’ serving spoon. It has a minimal chance of getting ice-cream in the fingers. It is easy to use and completely self-explanatory. The crinkle is made of sustainable material.
